Rustic Steel Creations Inc. is actively looking for an AutoCAD Designer for Metal Fabrication Shop. Experience in construction and architectural background is required. Artistic ability is a PLUS!
Job Summary

 
Responsible for designing, detailing, and coordinating custom architectural and ornamental metal fabrication projects from concept through production. Develop accurate fabrication drawings, collaborate with clients, engineers, and fabricators, solve field and design challenges, and ensure projects are completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, structural integrity, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

•      Design custom metal fabrication projects using AutoCAD, including tables, architectural features, sculptures, furniture, and specialty fabrication.
•      Create detailed fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and production-ready documentation for manufacturing.
•      Revise drawings based on engineering requirements, client feedback, fabrication

constraints, and field conditions.

•      Coordinate directly with clients to review project requirements, dimensions, materials, finishes, and scheduling.
•      Work closely with fabricators to ensure drawings accurately reflect fabrication methods and can be efficiently produced.
•      Perform site measurements and verify field dimensions when required.

•      Develop solutions for structural and fabrication challenges while maintaining design intent.
•      Coordinate with engineers on structural requirements, load considerations, and fabrication details.
•      Track multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining production schedules and deadlines.
•      Order and verify project materials based on approved drawings and specifications.

•      Communicate daily with shop personnel regarding project priorities, fabrication questions, and production updates.
•      Assist in fabrication operations including welding, metal preparation, assembly, and finishing when production demands require.
•      Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing best practices.
•      Maintain organized project files, drawing revisions, and documentation throughout each project's lifecycle.
