All About the Senior Game Technician

The Senior Game Technician serves as a technical leader responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing Belmont Park's arcade games, attractions, redemption systems, and related electronic and electromechanical equipment. Reporting to the IT Manager, this position serves as the primary technical resource for Park Operations Managers while providing leadership and mentorship to the Game Technician team.

In addition to advanced technical repairs, the Senior Game Technician oversees preventative maintenance programs, inventory management, vendor coordination, technician training, and equipment performance. This role plays a vital part in minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring every guest enjoys a safe, reliable, and exceptional entertainment experience.

Your Role at Belmont Park

As the Senior Game Technician, you'll lead the technical operations that keep Belmont Park's attractions running at peak performance. From mentoring technicians and solving complex equipment issues to developing maintenance strategies and supporting new attractions, you'll help ensure our games remain safe, reliable, and ready to deliver unforgettable guest experiences every day.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Equipment Maintenance
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for Park Operations Managers and support escalated issues from Game Technicians and IT Technicians.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical issues on arcade games, redemption systems, attractions, and related equipment.
  • Perform complex component-level repairs, including circuit board diagnostics and soldering.
  • Ensure manufacturer specifications and vendor recommendations are followed during repairs and installations.
  • Assist with the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new games and attractions.
Preventative Maintenance
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment issues before failures occur.
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend maintenance improvements to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure attractions and gaming equipment remain safe, operational, and guest-ready.
Training & Team Development
  • Develop and deliver training programs for Game Technicians.
  • Mentor technicians by providing technical guidance, coaching, and ongoing support.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and solutions-focused work environment.
  • Assist with technician scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Daily Operations
  • Conduct daily inspections of gaming equipment and attractions.
  • Respond to escalated technical issues while prioritizing repairs based on operational needs.
  • Participate in operational meetings and provide technical recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workshops, storage rooms, and technical workspaces.
Inventory & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment modifications.
  • Manage inventory of replacement parts, consumables, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ensure critical inventory levels are maintained through proactive ordering and vendor coordination.
  • Verify all tools and testing equipment remain properly maintained and calibrated.
Guest Experience & Technical Support
  • Ensure proper game functionality, payouts, and redemption processes to support a positive guest experience.
  • Communicate professionally with guests regarding equipment concerns when necessary.
  • Partner with Operations, IT, and Facilities to quickly resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor arcade and attraction networks in collaboration with the IT department to maintain reliable system connectivity.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate game performance and recommend equipment relocations or replacements based on operational data and guest preferences.
  • Assist in planning and implementing new attractions and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and equipment reliability.
Vendor Management & Industry Engagement
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure warranty repairs, service contracts, and equipment support are completed appropriately.
  • Verify vendor compliance with contractual obligations and manufacturer standards.
  • Attend technical training sessions, manufacturer workshops, and industry expos to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, manufacturer recommendations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and address unsafe equipment or working conditions.
  • Ensure work orders and inspections are completed within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Several years of experience repairing arcade games, amusement equipment, electronic systems, or related electromechanical equipment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with soldering, circuit board diagnostics, and component-level repairs.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing inventory and preventative maintenance programs preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
