A Game AI Intern assists in designing, programming, and testing artificial intelligence systems for video games. Their responsibilities often include creating behaviors for non-player characters (NPCs), implementing pathfinding algorithms, and supporting the development team with debugging and optimizing AI code. This role provides hands-on experience in game development while allowing interns to learn about industry-standard tools and techniques for AI. Game AI interns typically work closely with senior AI programmers and designers to enhance the gameplay experience.

What are some typical projects or tasks a Game AI Intern might work on during their internship?

As a Game AI Intern, you can expect to work on a variety of hands-on projects such as developing or refining non-player character (NPC) behaviors, implementing simple decision-making algorithms, or helping to test and tune existing AI systems in games. Collaborating closely with designers, programmers, and artists, you may also assist in creating tools for AI debugging or contribute to prototyping new gameplay features that rely on artificial intelligence. These tasks not only help you build practical skills but also provide valuable insight into how AI shapes player experiences in commercial games.

To thrive as a Game AI Intern, you need a solid understanding of programming (particularly in C++ or Python), algorithms, and basic principles of artificial intelligence, often supported by coursework or a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, and version control systems such as Git, is commonly expected. Creativity, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork set outstanding candidates apart in collaborative game development environments. These skills are crucial for designing engaging AI behaviors, efficiently integrating AI systems, and contributing meaningfully to game projects.

Your Role
We're hiring a Tax Accounting Intern to join our Accounting & Finance team. We're looking for a current student who wants to sharpen their skills in the accounting field by gaining real-world experience with a flexible schedule that fits around classes.
As a Tax Accounting Intern, you'll:
  • Assist tax processes. You'll help process tax-exempt certificates, file state and local tax returns, and complete daily business tasks in our tax department.
  • Balance department projects. You'll dive into researching tax credits and incentives outside of normal daily business tasks.
  • Commit to a flexible schedule. This role starts 7 September 2026, with the intent to continue part-time (15-20 hours a week) during the academic school year.

For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our offices in Lincoln, Nebraska. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.
Must-Haves
  • An accounting major. You're pursuing a degree in accounting and have developed a genuine passion for the field.
  • Attention to detail. You have experience with reconciliation and feel comfortable identifying discrepancies.
  • Multi-tasking abilities. You don't get overwhelmed by multiple projects and use your organization skills to stick to deadlines.
  • Excel proficiency. You're comfortable with Excel and even more comfortable looking up shortcuts and functions when you need them.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Eager to learn. You can't wait to take on complex accounting entries and you enjoy working your way toward solutions.
  • A problem solver. You understand how to navigate unique tasks and aren't afraid to ask for help when needed.
  • AI fluency. You're curious about AI tools and comfortable using them to streamline research, organize data or improve your daily workflows.
Our Role
  • Ask you to make an impact. You're part of the team-that means you'll have real responsibilities. We want to hear what you think and see what you can do.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But even if you're taking advantage of the opportunity to work remotely, we'll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
  • Develop your career. On top of working alongside some of the best professionals in the business and gaining real-world experience, we'll give you extra opportunities like lunch-and-learns and access to curated libraries to round out your internship.
  • Support your wellbeing. You'll have an entire team on your side to give advice and provide answers to your questions, plus more resources like topic-specific Slack channels and employee resource groups. In short, we have you covered.
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this role is set by a candidate's year in school, and will be determined by their academic standing at the start of the internship.
Base Hourly Range
$15-$15.50 USD
Inclusion at Hudl
Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we'll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.
We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there's ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports.
We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don't hesitate to apply-we'd love to hear from you.
