Overview: As a Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances between terminals, ensuring safe and timely delivery while adhering to company policies and regulations. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain by transporting goods efficiently and reliably.
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Adhere to established routes and schedules while maintaining awareness of changing road and weather conditions.
  • Load and unload freight onto the truck using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring that cargo is properly secured and balanced to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Verify the accuracy of shipping documents, including bills of lading, manifests, and delivery instructions, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, terminal managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly and accurately, following company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact professionally with customers and other individuals encountered during delivery and pickup operations, representing the company in a positive and customer-focused manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial vehicle operation, including hours-of-service regulations, weight limits, and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of driver logs, trip reports, and other required documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial truck driver, with a clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other technology used for tracking hours of service and recording driver activity.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and industry best practices for cargo securement, vehicle inspection, and safe driving techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed, with flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and delivery demands.
