Job description

SUMMARY
The Furniture Delivery Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate delivery of furniture to our customers. This role involves loading and unloading furniture, assembling items at delivery sites, maintaining inventory accuracy, and utilizing technology applications to support operations. The driver also ensures vehicles are maintained and complies with all safety and traffic regulations while providing exceptional customer service.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safely transport furniture from the warehouse or showroom to customer locations, following assigned delivery routes and schedules.
2. Load and unload furniture with care to prevent damage, using proper tools and techniques.
3. Verify delivery orders against invoices and manifests to ensure accuracy.
4. Use inventory management systems or mobile applications to scan, track, and confirm the movement of furniture items.
5. Ensure all delivered items match order specifications, reporting discrepancies to the operations team.
6. Handle returned or exchanged items, updating inventory records accordingly and ensuring proper documentation.
7. Operate company-provided apps or systems to manage delivery schedules, route navigation, and customer updates.
8. Record delivery confirmations, customer signatures, and any issues using mobile devices or technology platforms.
9. Troubleshoot basic app or system issues and report technical problems to management as needed.
10. Assemble and set up furniture at delivery locations, ensuring proper functionality and presentation.
11. Communicate courteously with customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns professionally.
12. Provide basic guidance on furniture care and maintenance as requested.
13. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure safe operation.
14. Report any vehicle maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
15. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
Compliance and Safety
  1. Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies during deliveries.
  2. Use proper lifting techniques, safety equipment, and tools to minimize injury risks.
  3. Ensure that all delivery documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Operational Support
  1. Assist with packing and securing furniture for transport, ensuring items are protected during transit.
  2. Support the warehouse team with inventory checks, loading/unloading, and other tasks as required.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Valid driver's license with a 3-year clean driving record.
2. Experience in furniture delivery, inventory management, or a related field is preferred

5. Team player with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
6. Tech-savvy and adaptable to using new tools and applications.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
2. Must maintain a valid driver's license; be at least 21 years of age.
3. Ability to read and speak English sufficient to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records.
4. Must be DOT. certified with a 3-year clean driving record and physically qualified to drive by passing a DOT physical.
