Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Lead Restoration Technician for a water damage and mold restoration company in Irvine, CA. This is a long-term placement position paying $30-$35/hr, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm, with Saturday overtime available as needed. In this role, you will lead the setup and operation of restoration equipment - including extractors, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and ozone generators - perform moisture mapping using thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters, and remove damaged building materials at water damage and mold-affected properties. This position requires an IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification.
Pay:$30-$35/hr
Schedule:Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm; Saturday overtime as needed

Responsibilities
  • Lead setup, operation, and monitoring of restoration equipment - including extractors, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, ozone generators, and air movers - across water damage and mold-affected properties.
  • Perform moisture mapping using thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to document and track drying progress.
  • Remove damaged building materials including drywall, flooring, and insulation.
  • Apply anti-microbial and anti-fungal treatments in affected areas.
  • Train and supervise junior technicians on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Maintain detailed job records including photos, moisture readings, and notes; communicate restoration timelines directly with property owners and managers.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in a lead role in water damage and mold restoration.
  • Active IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification.
  • Experience using moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional IICRC certifications such as Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Mold Remediation (AMRT), or similar.
  • Experience with anti-microbial and anti-fungal treatment applications.
  • Knowledge of IICRC S500, S520, and industry drying guidelines.
  • Experience working in residential properties and communicating directly with homeowners.
  • Familiarity with job documentation platforms or restoration management software.
