About the Position

Old Mission is a quantitative proprietary trading firm that is currently recruiting a Fundamental Research Analyst to join our Chicago HQ. As a Fundamental Research Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting research and monitoring news around the globe with the goal of discovering new investment opportunities. You'll work closely with the desk leads to produce reports that will have an impact on our trading strategies. Staying current and sharing information with our traders will make you a valuable member of our team. News junkies are encouraged to apply and help our firm make real-time trading decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze news/events/information that will have an impact on our trading group(s) and report pertinent information.
  • Support traders by being the sole point of contact for conducting research and following all global macro events that could impact the price of certain securities.
  • Collaborate and work directly with small trading groups on analyzing data for patterns as well as developing new ideas/tools.
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a Research Analyst Role.
  • A demonstrable passion for the financial markets as well as for problem solving and pattern recognition.
  • Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a time-sensitive, fast-paced, collaborative, and collegial environment.
  • A strong quantitative, analytical and research-oriented skill set.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Reuters.
  • Programming skills in Python will get you bonus points!

Base Salary Range

$170,000 - $200,000 - Salaries are based on numerous factors such as skills, experience, and education. Our compensation package also includes a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits program for full-time employees.
