Job description

We are looking for a Business Analytics/Data Analyst to support pricing and sales reporting activities for a Contract position based in Dekalb, Illinois. This opportunity focuses on improving how customer pricing files are prepared and maintained by turning manual, inconsistent spreadsheet processes into reliable and efficient analytical workflows. The role will partner with sales and business stakeholders to strengthen data accuracy, standardization, and reporting quality in a semiconductor and electrical components manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Build and refine analytical processes that support the preparation of recurring customer price lists across weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles.
• Examine pricing inputs tied to market-based drivers and translate them into structured, dependable reporting outputs for business users.
• Standardize spreadsheet models, calculation logic, and reporting formats to improve consistency across customer-facing pricing documents.
• Use SQL, Excel VBA, and macros to reduce repetitive manual work and streamline data preparation activities.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to identify discrepancies, improve accuracy, and support confident business decision-making.
• Partner with sales and cross-functional stakeholders to gather reporting needs, clarify pricing rules, and deliver practical analytics solutions.
• Develop business intelligence views and ad hoc analyses that highlight trends, exceptions, and performance insights related to pricing activity.
• Document workflows, assumptions, and controls to support maintainability, transparency, and operational efficiency over time.

• 5+ years of experience in business analytics, data analysis, or a related reporting-focused role.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA and macros, with the ability to automate complex spreadsheet-driven processes.

• Proven ability to work with business intelligence tools and translate data into meaningful operational insights.

• Experience supporting financial or pricing analysis with a solid understanding of GAAP and US GAAP principles.

• Strong attention to detail and a track record of improving data quality, reporting consistency, and process efficiency.

• Ability to communicate clearly with business stakeholders and turn requirements into effective analytical deliverables.
