Data Architect

The Opportunity:

As organizations increasingly rely on cloud computing and advanced analytics, the ability to design well-structured, scalable, and well-governed data systems is more important than ever. We are looking for aJunior Data Architectto help shape and support the data foundation that powers analytics, reporting, and operational insights across our organization.

As a Junior Data Architect, you'll work alongside engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design and maintain data structures that make complex data accessible, reliable, and meaningful. Working withinAWS-based environments, you'll help model data, support pipeline development, and contribute to building scalable data architectures that support both operational and analytical workloads.

Here, you'll work with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced and agile environment. You'll help translate business requirements into well-structured data models and architecture patterns while collaborating closely with data engineers and platform teams to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and reliable. You'll also help supportdata governance practices, including improving data quality, documentation, and standards that promote responsible and consistent use of organizational data.

How You'll Contribute

As aJunior Data Architecton our team, you will:

  • Design and maintainlogical and physical data modelsthat support analytics and reporting use cases.

  • Write and optimizeSQL queriesto transform and structure data for downstream systems and reporting.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support the design and implementation ofdata pipelines and data integration workflowswithin AWS environments.

  • Translatebusiness and analytical requirementsinto scalable data structures and architecture patterns.

  • Help design and maintaindata schemas, metadata standards, and documentationto improve data discoverability and usability.

  • Support development and optimization ofETL and ELT workflowsthat transform raw data into curated analytical datasets.

  • Assist in maintaining the reliability, performance, and scalability ofdata storage and processing systems.

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders including product, analytics, and engineering teams to understand and address data needs.

  • Supportdata governance initiatives, including improving data quality, lineage visibility, and consistency across datasets.

  • Help enforcedata standards and best practicesto ensure data integrity, appropriate access, and responsible data usage across the organization.

You Have:
  • 2+ years of experienceworking with data systems, data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture

  • Experience writing and optimizingSQL queriesfor data transformation and analysis

  • Experience withdata modeling conceptsincluding dimensional modeling, star schemas, normalization, and schema design

  • Experience working withrelational databases or cloud data platforms such as AWS

  • Experience usingPython for data processing, automation, or scripting

  • Knowledge ofETL and ELT processes and modern data pipeline architectures

  • Knowledge ofdata governance concepts, including data quality, metadata management, and data documentation

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and collaborate withcross-functional stakeholders

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience withAWS data servicessuch as S3, Glue, Redshift, or Athena

  • Experience supportingdata warehouse or lakehouse architectures

  • Experience withdata orchestration or transformation toolssuch as Airflow or dbt

  • Experience withdata governance toolssuch as data catalogs, lineage tools, or metadata management platforms

  • Experience working withlarge-scale analytical datasets

  • Secret clearance

  • CDMP certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
