Job description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32

A professional caregiver who primarily provides pulmonary function testing on an outpatient and inpatient basis, as well as outpatient respiratory care services.
Responsible for the safe and effective administration of medically prescribed respiratory care procedures and pulmonary function testing. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from pediatrics to elderly.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • PFT experience
  • Excellent Testing skills
  • knowledge and skills necessary for proper assessment, test selection and performance based on physician prescription, diagnosis, symptoms and emerging test results as well as proper treatment selection in the following areas: airway management, bronchial hygiene and oxygen therapy
  • Provides testing and care as outlined in Pulmonary Function and Respiratory Care policies and procedures

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • Able to communicate effectively with all age groups and provide education concerning the above mentioned areas

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an CoArc approved program for Respiratory care or have appropriate clinical experience.

License/Certification:

  • Current MA Respiratory license.
  • CRT, RRT preferred
  • BLS certified.
  • AS or BA/BS preferred

Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.

Ability to Meet Job Performance Expectations: Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
