Job description

We are hiring multiple start dates to meet our project needs for 2026 & 2027.
City Construction is dedicated to supporting our employees by providing resources, training, and opportunities to thrive in a safe, collaborative, and fun workplace.
We are looking for a full-time commercial Laborer to join our team. As the laborer you will be responsible for performing a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the construction site.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Unload materials that are delivered such as lumber, casework, frames doors and hardware or specialty items and distribute them to appropriate locations as identified by the superintendent, project plans, or specifications
  • Perform general demolition
  • Clean and prepare specific areas of the jobsite as assigned
  • Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools
  • Clean the jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored
  • Help other craft workers, such as carpenters, finish carpenters, and foremen
  • Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to company safety policies
  • Work towards continuous quality improvement
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
  • Have the ability to work on projects outside of a 60 mile radius from Iowa City
  • Valid driver's license and Satisfactory Driving Record
