We are seeking an energetic and experienced Teacher to join our team! As a Teacher, you will lead a class of students through a successful school year, creating and implementing a comprehensive educational curriculum. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching!
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and educate students in art techniques in a classroom setting
  • Adhere to established teaching curriculum
  • Maintain positive relationships with students and coworkers
  • Document and share student progress and evaluations
  • Report and document behavioral incidents
  • Encourage the development of students critical thinking skills
  • Take attendance
  • Ensure students are engaged in class and provide feedback
  • Document students learning progress
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school personnel to create a healthy and safe learning environment
  • This is an IN-PERSON position (must be available to work in a classroom that is set up for social distancing with students in-person. We currently do not have any positions for remote teaching available)
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work Thursday and/or Friday afternoon (4pm - 8pm), Saturday, and/or Sunday (8:30 - 12:30, 2pm - 6pm) on a regular basis.
  • College student or graduate in art-related major highly preferred
  • Strong traditional media art skills (especially in drawing and painting)
  • Must be able to commit to a regular schedule of at least two shifts each week for a minimum of two semesters.
  • Physical requirements include being able to be on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time
  • Reliability and proactiveness is a MUST
  • Laid-back, fun, playful, and outgoing personality! You need to be friendly, but firm in a playful way with students.
  • Strong classroom management skills a plus
  • Ability to build rapport with students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Previous experience teaching groups of kids (any age groups between ages 4-17)
