Job description

Position Title: DevOps Engineer Mid

Location: Redstone Arsenal

Position Type: Full-Time


Position Summary

Cintel is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to support the design, deployment, testing, certification, operation, and maintenance of DevSecOps infrastructure and tools in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux administration, Python development, Kubernetes, Ansible, Splunk, and automated deployment practices.


Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, test, certify, operate, patch, and maintain DevSecOps infrastructure, including operating systems, support libraries, components, and application dependencies.
  • Develop applications, scripts, and utility programs using Python to support cybersecurity, automation, and operational requirements.
  • Use GitHub for source control, branching strategies, code management, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Apply hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Ansible for container orchestration, configuration management, and automated deployments.
  • Configure and manage Linux-based servers and infrastructure in secure environments.
  • Test, implement, deploy, maintain, and administer infrastructure hardware and software supporting cybersecurity operations.
  • Integrate third-party components, introduce new capabilities, modify existing code, and recommend process improvements.
  • Automate operations and maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Deploy and configure services using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers.
  • Debug and troubleshoot cluster-based computing architectures and interoperability issues.
  • Install, configure, and manage open-source monitoring and observability tools.
  • Support Splunk and other data and analytics platforms.
  • Work within an Agile/DevSecOps environment using Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
  • Quickly learn and implement tools such as Grafana, Splunk, Cribl, Power BI, and cloud-based development services to improve monitoring, automation, and operational visibility.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience administering Linux-based environments.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity infrastructure, hardware, and software.
  • Experience developing or maintaining applications, scripts, software, or utility programs for cybersecurity or IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Python.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub and source control practices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Ansible.
  • Experience with infrastructure deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Associate certification.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL-based platforms.
  • Experience with Grafana, Cribl, Power BI, or similar monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Experience integrating third-party software components and developing custom capabilities.
  • Experience with cloud-based development and Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments.
