Job description

The Capitol Medical Group is seeking a full-time Radiologist with fellowship training in Breast Imaging to join the hospital service team at George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a strong academic environment with teaching opportunities. 

Quick Facts

  • Full-Time employed position with a high-volume service with a heavy focus on breast imaging
  • Join an existing staff of three physicians; 2 MAs; eight dedicated breast technologists; two breast ultrasound techs; Nurse Navigator and ABUS technologists; and dedicated registration, intake and scheduling staff
  • Current volume averages approximately 80 patients per day in office
  • Join a diverse team in an academic setting equipped with the latest technology
  • Position includes a non-tenured track appointment

Responsibilities

  • Multimodality approach to screening for breast cancer including DBT, ABUS, MRI and BSGI
  • Average volume includes approximately 40 screening exams, 35 diagnostic exams, 8-10 ABUS exams and 6 MRI exams per day. Additionally, there are approximately 12-15 DEXA exams performed at the outpatient center
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncology and nurse navigators
  • Plain film weekend call; approximately 8 total per year
  • Participate in tumor board discussions within an academic setting while working with residents and breast imaging fellows

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Radiology
  • Candidates must be fellowship-trained in Breast Imaging
  • Candidates should be proficient in minimally invasive breast biopsy procedures in all modalities
  • Valid medical license in the District of Columbia by time of appointment
  • Interest in academic medicine and teaching
