Job Summary and Qualifications

The Radiologic Technologist is the primary liaison between patients, departmental physicians, and other members of the support team. They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.

The Radiologic Technologist must:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiologic positioning and exposure techniques.

  • Maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.

The Radiologic Technologist prepares for and assists the physician in the completion of intricate radiologic examinations. They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal, and hospital regulations.

What you will do in this role:

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in this department.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs.

  • Assess patients' and families' ability to learn and incorporate teaching.

  • Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and procedures for the radiological department.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic Technology.

  • ARRT R.T. (R)(denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) or registry eligible.

  • Must be registry eligible and obtain ARRT within 6 months of the hire date; if not obtained, termination will occur.

  • One year of post-graduate experience is strongly preferred.

  • American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
