Job description

  • Bonus: Up to $15,000  
  • Department: Computerized Tomography CT
  • Schedule: Multiple shifts available 
    • Full Time Days - Monday through Friday 9:30am-6pm
    • Full Time Days - Monday through Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm
    • Full Time Days - Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
    • Full Time Evenings - Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm or 1p to 9:30pm
    • 7on/7off - Wednesday - Tuesday 7:00am - 5:30pm
    • 7on/7off - Wednesday - Tuesday 9:00pm - 7:30am
    • Full Time Days - Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 8:30pm
  • Work Location: UAB St Vincent's Birmingham

  • Our radiology team includes certified specialists and provides advanced imaging services across fast-paced inpatient and outpatient environments. We offer flexible scheduling and professional growth through cross-training, and work collaboratively to support diagnostics and critical interventions, contributing directly to exceptional patient care and positive outcomes. 

Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.  American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.  Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    •  NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology required
