This position is based at our Ramsey, NJ facility, where we manufacture world-class precision grinding, electrochemical machining, and abrasive processing technologies. Our team designs and builds highly engineered equipment and precision components used in demanding manufacturing environments where accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship are critical to success.


ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Quality Inspector I, you'll play a key role in ensuring that precision-machined parts, components, and assemblies meet engineering specifications and quality standards before they move through production or reach our customers. You'll work with precision measuring equipment, engineering drawings, and inspection documentation while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured and purchased parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Use precision inspection equipment including optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators, and other metrology tools to verify part conformance.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to determine product acceptance.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material while supporting corrective action and disposition activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused inspection area.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, machining, or precision inspection preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Associate degree or technical/vocational training in quality, manufacturing, machining, or metrology is a plus.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification is a plus.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gages, and other inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical blueprints.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect components with tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems, manufacturing quality processes, and inspection documentation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The pay range for this role is $52,199 - $62,638 annually ($25.10 - $30.11 per hour). This position is overtime eligible and participates in MMT's Annual Bonus Plan.
