Job description

Summary:
Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing in-bound inspection, assist with customer returns and out-bound inspection audits, and should be familiar with using instruments such as Radio Frequency (RF) Scanner, Cubiscan Scanning and Calipers. Must have good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Quality Inspector II works directly with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure all quality and company requirements are followed.
Essential Job Functions *
  • Perform in-bound, including returns and first shipment inspection.
  • Perform out-bound inspection audits.
  • Record / Enter inspection results to support quality assurance.
  • Perform Cubiscan verification & correction.
  • Prepare and issue Problem Report (PR) and Corrective Action Report (CAR) when non-conforming items or damaged items are discovered.
  • Prepare and issue Quality Alerts.
  • Monitor list of items on quality hold and participate in weekly review meeting to assist with disposition.
  • Measure products using Calipers and Micrometers, as required.
  • Ensuring calibration of all gages and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain record keeping, electronically and hardcopy as required.
  • Assist in investigating quality issues to determine root cause.
  • Cross train in the event of an absent QA Staff.
  • Assist in developing procedures to maintain Quality System.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by management.
  • Complies with Hillman policies, procedures and safety rules.
  • Support and follow the health and safety program.

  • High School diploma or higher

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Must be able to read Spec Sheet and Artwork.
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise 1 (E1) would be an asset.
  • Two or more years' experience working in a Distribution or Manufacturing Environment.
