This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-heavy work, thrives in a fast-moving construction environment, and wants to support a builder known for quality and smart design.


Joyner Homes is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support purchasing and estimating functions for residential construction projects. This person will work closely with the purchasing team on sourcing, competitive quoting, pricing updates, scopes of work, takeoffs, site cost estimating, purchase orders, change orders, and cost catalog maintenance. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, quick to learn software, and comfortable handling a mix of administrative and construction-related coordination work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with sourcing and competitive quoting
  • Support annual pricing updates for utilities and recurring cost categories
  • Help prepare and maintain scopes of work
  • Coordinate Design Studio display orders
  • Assist with site cost estimating and takeoffs
  • Review plot plans and support site-related pricing coordination
  • Prepare variable purchase orders
  • Help process construction-related change orders
  • Track warehouse stock inventory and support stock ordering
  • Maintain cost catalogs and design pricing sheets
  • Learn and use Excel and other internal software tools
  • Support additional purchasing and estimating tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior purchasing, estimating, construction administration, or related experience preferred
  • A residential construction background is a plus
  • Estimating or takeoff experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Comfortable working in Excel and other digital tools
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and follow-through
  • Team-player mindset with willingness to learn and grow

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 employment
  • Pay: $28 to $35 per hour, based on experience.
