Job Title: Systems Administrator - Third-Party Applications (TPA)
Functional Job Summary
The Systems Administrator for Third-Party Applications is responsible for planning, implementing, administering, integrating, and supporting all off-the-shelf (COTS/TPA) products used within the B&H ecosystem. This role ensures that each product is properly aligned with business needs, securely integrated into existing systems, and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Application Administration & Ownership
  • Serve as the primary administrator for multiple third-party applications.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of TPA systems, including onboarding, integration, upgrade management, optimization, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure all applications meet B&H security, compliance, and technical standards.

Integration & Implementation
  • Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for new applications and enhancement requests.
  • Evaluate compatibility of new software with B&H's infrastructure, data flows, and operational needs.
  • Lead application rollout efforts including planning, configuration, testing, documentation, and user onboarding.
  • Coordinate with architectural, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth and compliant integrations.

Troubleshooting & Support
  • Investigate and resolve application, data, workflow, and network-related issues.
  • Manage assigned support tickets and ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support when required for system emergencies or planned maintenance.

Monitoring & Performance Management
  • Design and implement monitoring, reporting, and configuration management capabilities (uptime, performance, error logs).
  • Ensure high availability and reliability for all supported applications.

Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Confluence, SharePoint, and JIRA, including:
    • Configuration details
    • Integration diagrams
    • Support procedures
    • Best practices
    • Runbooks & SOPs
  • Develop risk assessments, project plans, and contingency plans for new implementations.

Security & Compliance
  • Ensure all applications comply with B&H security policies, access standards, and data governance requirements.
  • Coordinate with InfoSec for vendor evaluations, vulnerability management, and access reviews.

Vendor Management & Evaluation
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of software vendors and tools, including contract reviews and renewal cycles.
  • Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting, escalations, upgrades, and feature improvements.
  • Provide recommendations on new tools and opportunities for optimization.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to understand needs and improve product usage.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on supported applications and emerging technologies.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments and function as a trusted advisor.

Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in rollout and deployment management for application updates.
  • Support large-scale server or system installations when relevant to TPA products.
  • Execute special projects at leadership's direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Strong system administration experience across Linux, Windows, and SaaS/cloud platforms.
  • Experience administering and supporting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS/TPA) software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across servers, networks, databases, and integrations.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Windows Server and Active Directory
    • Group Policy configuration
    • IIS administration
    • Application server management
    • Deployment & rollout processes
    • LAN/WAN fundamentals
