Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support a Government Consulting company located in Herndon VA through 100% onsite work. The Java Software Engineer will provide Agile DevOps support for mission-critical systems while developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise software, cloud environments, and operational tools. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain software systems, tools, and applications within a DevOps environment
* Support the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and implementation
* Deliver Agile DevOps support for mission-critical and cloud-based systems
* Contribute to the design, development, and testing of customer solutions
* Oversee operations and maintenance activities for essential systems Qualifications: * Experience with Java software development
* Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and methodologies
* Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps)
* Background working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
* Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Poly
Preferred: * Full-stack and web development experience
* Experience designing/documenting microservice-based architectures
