Job description

About Wonder

Everything's on the menu at Wonder. Except compromise.

Wonder is the mealtime platform built to feed every craving in one order. With Wonder, you can mix and match hundreds of dishes from 20+ exclusive restaurants in a single order, so everyone gets exactly what they're craving. Enjoy everything from tacos to Thai with $0 delivery fees, plus dine-in or pick up at a Wonder location near you. Each dish is made to order on-site by our culinary team and served hot.

Behind the scenes, Wonder owns and operates every step of the dining experience, from recipe development to the technology that powers our experience, allowing us to deliver quality, variety, and consistency at scale.

Join us as we work to make great food more accessible.

About The Opportunity

Every meal Wonder delivers starts as a chain of decisions - forecasting demand, sourcing ingredients, scheduling production, managing inventory across facilities, and coordinating fulfillment down to the minute. These decisions span dozens of facilities, hundreds of operators, and a supply chain that is growing in both scale and complexity. When the software behind these decisions is fast, correct, and easy to use, food moves through the system efficiently and customers get exactly what they ordered. When it isn't, food is wasted, orders go short, and the experience breaks down.

We're looking for a product-minded senior engineer to build the systems and interfaces that keep this supply chain running. You will be a key individual contributor on our Supply Chain Technology team, working across the full stack - from the backend services that orchestrate ordering, production, and fulfillment workflows to the operational interfaces that planners, buyers, and floor operators rely on every day. You'll own features end-to-end: designing the data model, building the service, wiring up the API, and shipping the UI that puts it in front of operators.

This is a true fullstack role. You'll move between backend services and frontend applications depending on where the most impactful work is, and you'll develop depth across both. You'll partner closely with product, design, data, and operations teams, and you'll have room to grow into a technical lead across the Supply Chain organization.

The Impact You'll Make

  • Building and operating distributed backend services that serve as the source of truth for business workflows

  • Developing complex, data-intensive web applications with real-time operational data

  • Event-driven architectures, message queues, and streaming systems Database design and performance optimization across relational and document stores

  • Creating responsive, intuitive user interfaces that support real operational workflows Making informed technical decisions through collaboration with peers and documenting them for the team

  • Working with public cloud infrastructure and containerized applications

  • Modern orchestration systems like Kubernetes

  • Participating in on-call rotations and owning the operational health of the services you ship

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems across backend and frontend.

  • Strong system design skills and a track record of owning features end-to-end.

  • Proficiency in at least one JVM language. We primarily use Kotlin.

  • Proficiency in a modern frontend framework. We use Next.js with TypeScript.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges across the stack.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions with product, design, and operations partners.

New Jersey / New York Base Salary: $176,000 - $183,500.

Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package including equity and 401K. Additionally, we provide multiple medical, dental, and vision plans to meet all of our employees' needs as well as many benefits and perks that are not listed.
