Job description

Sinclair is seeking an experienced YouTube Platform Lead to help own the strategy, performance, and operational excellence of our YouTube presence across podcasts, news stations, and social-first brands. This is a specialized platform leadership role, not a general social production position.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise in how YouTube works as a distribution, discovery, and monetization engine. They understand content ID, copyright management, audience development, packaging, analytics, and revenue optimization at a level that allows them to shape strategy and improve performance across a broad portfolio of channels and brands.

This person will help define how Sinclair uses YouTube to grow audiences, extend brand reach and generate revenue across news, sports and entertainment content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Sinclair's internal subject matter expert on YouTube and help oversee YouTube strategy across podcasts, news stations, and social verticals, including channel architecture, programming, and publishing strategy.
  • Build platform-specific growth strategies for each brand and content type, balancing reach, retention, frequency, and monetization.
  • Partner closely with sales, editorial, production, social, legal, and product leadership to ensure YouTube is integrated into Sinclair's broader digital strategy.
  • Analyze KPIs such as views, watch time, CTR, retention, subscriber growth, RPM, revenue, and other key metrics to guide overall YouTube strategy.
  • Translate platform changes, policy updates, and algorithmic shifts into actionable guidance for teams across the organization.
  • Develop monetization strategies that maximize revenue while protecting brand safety, content rights, and long-term channel health.
  • Create repeatable operating processes and training that help producers, editors, and channel managers build content that performs well on YouTube.
  • Represent Sinclair in conversations with vendors, partners, creators, and internal stakeholders as the lead subject matter expert on YouTube.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with YouTube in a strategy, operations, programming, growth, or monetization role.
  • Deep understanding of YouTube ecosystem, including content ID, rights management, monetization rules, policy enforcement, and audience growth.
  • Demonstrated success improving channel performance through better packaging, publishing strategy, analytics, and content optimization.
  • Strong fluency with YouTube Analytics and related performance dashboards, with the ability to turn platform data into clear strategy and operating guidance.
  • Experience working across editorial, legal, business, sales, and technical teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and comfort making decisions in a fast-moving, high-volume content operation.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically, with the discipline to build process and the flexibility to respond to platform changes quickly.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of YouTube channels at scale.
  • Experience in news, podcasts, entertainment or sports environments a plus.


Success in this role means Sinclair's YouTube ecosystem becomes more intentional, more scalable, and more profitable. The YouTube Platform Lead will help us grow the right audiences, improve content performance and build a smarter operating model for one of our important distribution channels.

The base salarycompensation range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000. Finalcompensation for thisrole will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevantwork experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions areeligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and visionplans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 
9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
