What is a full time with salary PSW?

Full time with salary PSWs are Personal Support Workers who are employed on a full-time basis and receive a consistent salary, rather than hourly wages or part-time pay. These professionals assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility support, often in healthcare facilities or clients’ homes. Full time positions typically offer more job security, benefits, and regular working hours compared to part-time or casual roles. The salary for a full time PSW can vary depending on the employer, location, and experience, but it generally includes health benefits and paid time off.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you need a PSW certificate or equivalent qualification, along with strong foundational skills in personal care, mobility assistance, and basic medical observation. Familiarity with care documentation systems, patient transfer equipment, and infection control protocols is typically required.
