JOB SUMMARY
General Medical/Neurology located on the second floor is a 26 bed, adult medical-surgical unit serving a wide variety of patients suffering from various states of disease. The patient population that the General Medical/Neurology team cares for includes general medical-surgical patients suffering with UTIs, sepsis, pneumonia, renal issues, cardiac issues, GI issues, cellulitis, and diabetic complications. Along with the general medical-surgical patients, General Medical/Neurology cares for medical-surgical level neurology patients including patients suffering from strokes, traumatic brain injury, TIAs, seizures, and altered mental status. General Medical/Neurology team also cares for patients suffering with behavioral health related concerns.This position is responsible for assessing patient/family health problems and resources and taking a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a nursing care plan provided by the nursing team. Provides direct nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations.This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including adolescent through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:
  • BSN

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
  • Possesses current State RN license.
