Job description

Summary
The Rebate Analyst is responsible for maintaining and improving the team's rebate payment calculation, reporting, and communication processes, producing monthly rebate forecasts, understanding client contractual obligations and performing detailed manual calculations to determine the rebates due to clients based on those obligations. Additional responsibilities include supporting financial audits and performing ad hoc analysis as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs detailed manual calculations for client rebate payments
  • Prepares internal and external reporting to support rebate payments to clients and performs rebate payment reconciliations.
  • Evaluates client contracts and amendments on an ongoing basis and tracks updated rebate payment terms to ensure accurate client liability forecasts and calculations.
  • Reviews and analyzes rebate reimbursements to ensure contract compliance.
  • Supports rebate related requests and inquiries from internal and external clients.
  • Ensures processes and procedures comply with client contractual agreements.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements when identified.
  • Prepares rebate deliverables to support organizational financial planning and analysis.
  • Utilizes database functionality to analyze large data sets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Business or Finance is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience using Microsoft Excel is required. Experience using Tableau and/or SQL is preferred.
  • 3+ years of full-time professional experience in financial and data analysis is preferred.
  • Previous PBM experience is a strong plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and database use and functionality. Ability to write SQL is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with all individuals within the organization in a manner which illustrates sensitivity, tact and professionalism. Ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand and execute on detailed contract language.
  • Excellent ability to analyze, interpret and make decisions based on results.
  • Must be self-motivated and learn quickly.
  • This role requires strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required.

Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in a typical remote office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard phone, fax machine, and copier.
