Senior Software Developer / Integration SME

Overview
ServeFed is proactively seeking a Full Time experienced Senior Software Developer / Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development, integration, and maintenance of enterprise applications within a modern cloud-enabled environment. The successful candidate will work on high-availability integration platforms that support enterprise systems, APIs, and microservices architectures.
This role requires expertise in Java-based enterprise development, middleware integration, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices. The candidate will work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable application integration across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Integration Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integration services across distributed systems.
  • Implement RESTful and SOAP APIs to enable communication between enterprise applications.
  • Develop microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud frameworks.
Middleware amp; Messaging Integration
  • Configure and support enterprise messaging platforms including:
    • Red Hat AMQ (ActiveMQ)
    • IBM MQ
    • Apache Kafka
  • Develop integration flows using enterprise middleware platforms such as webMethods Integration Server and Universal Messaging.
Application Development
  • Develop backend services using Java and Spring frameworks.
  • Build frontend interfaces using ReactJS and JavaScript when required.
  • Integrate applications with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM Db2.
DevOps amp; CI/CD
  • Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or other CI/CD platforms.
  • Implement automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Maintain version control using Git-based repositories.
Containerization amp; Cloud Deployment
  • Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker or OCI containers.
  • Support container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Assist with cloud-native deployments in AWS or other cloud environments.
Monitoring amp; Performance Management
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as:
    • Prometheus
    • Grafana
    • AppDynamics
    • Splunk
  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot application performance issues.
Security amp; DevSecOps
  • Apply secure coding practices and security controls in application development.
  • Integrate vulnerability scanning and automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement security protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and TLS encryption.
Operations Support
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system and integration issues.
  • Support operational stability and system reliability for enterprise integration services.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Strong experience in Java application development
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Framework
  • Experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms such as webMethods or similar middleware solutions
  • Experience with messaging systems including:
    • Apache Kafka
    • IBM MQ
    • ActiveMQ
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience using Git-based version control systems
  • Familiarity with automated build and deployment processes
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures

  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as:

Education amp; Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in software development and enterprise integration environments.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting high-availability integration platforms
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems
