Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Responsible for the resolution of all user and technology issues. Support and maintain various Linux and Java RDBMS based applications on cloud platform. Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs that are scheduled in Control-M and Autosys. Coordinate and execute all software deployments into the production environment. Liaise with application development and infrastructure teams for ongoing development, production activity and release management. Maintain responsibility for major production incidents and work closely with other technology teams to resolve business-impacting issues. Proactively improve the quality of systems and services and increase business value. Apply DevOps practices to the entire software development life cycle and build, evolve, and operate rapidly changing resilient systems at scale. Manage the relationship between the operational users and the technology department through service review meetings and serving as a key point of escalation for technology issues or concerns within the operational areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Technology Support, Software Developer, Application Development, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Technology Support, Software Developer, Application Development, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing and maintaining Python applications for data manipulation, web scraping, and API integration using Pandas, BeautifulSoup, Requests, SQLAlchemy, Pymssql, PyODBC, Logging, Subprocess, JSON, OS, SYS, and NumPy libraries; Debugging and optimizing Python code and analyzing complex problems and automating workflow solutions using Python; Shell scripting for automation and ETL; Integrating Shell scripts with SQL databases and command-line tools for query execution and database management; Troubleshooting and tuning SQL queries on MSSQL, Oracle PLSQL, Cassandra, and Snowflake; Observability utilizing AWS CloudWatch for system monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboard configuration; Designing and implementing monitoring solutions using ITRS Geneos; Datadog for alerting, notification systems, and threshold configuration; Splunk for security monitoring, log management, and analysis; Grafana and Dynatrace for system performance analysis and optimization; Designing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability during system failures; Building microservices architectures with Python, Shell scripting, and SQL; Implementing secure file transfer protocols and ensuring compliance with EDI transactions and translations; Using AWS EC2, S3, REDIS, Lambda, SQS, Kafka, Spark ETL, Neo4j, Aurora RDS services and EKS for instance selection, configuration, and deployment; Implementing container orchestration and management using AWS EKS; Facilitating the deployment, scaling, and operation of containerized applications in Kubernetes; Developing secure web applications and RESTful APIs with Python frameworks Flask or Django with secure service communication; Configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Argo Scheduler; Automating deployment of Java-based application software changes; Conducting performance analysis and tuning using monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks and implementing solutions; Operating large-scale distributed systems and microservices for compliance and security best practices in cloud environments; Researching stock market indices, portfolio analytics, and PnL reporting.
