Description
Job Summary:
The Aircraft Avionics Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and maintenance of aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and approved maintenance programs. This position supports safe compliance, and reliable airline operations under 14 CFR Part 121.
Compensation: Starting at $34.00 p/hr + DOE
Schedule: Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required by operational needs.
Employment Type: Regular Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Functions:
  1. Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including but not limited to:
    1. Navigation, communication, flight guidance, and surveillance systems
    2. Autopilot and flight management systems (FMS)
    3. Flight data and cockpit voice recorders
    4. Weather radar, TCAS, ADS-B, and GPS systems
    5. Aircraft electrical power distribution and wiring
  2. Perform operational checks, functional tests, and system calibrations.
  3. Interpret and comply with approved technical data, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuels (AMM) Structural Repair Manuals (AMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Engineering Orders (EO), FAA Regulations, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  4. Accurately document maintenance actions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  5. Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance Control and other Maintenance personnel as required.
  6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  7. Support aircraft on-wing and off-wing maintenance, line maintenance, heavy maintenance, and AOG recovery as needed. Travel may be required for maintenance recovery or special projects.
  8. Maintain company-required qualifications and recurrent training.

Qualifications:
  1. Valid Driver's License is required.
  2. FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required.
  3. Must be able to pass a Drug Test and Airport Background Check.
  4. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required by operational needs.
  5. Minimum 2 years of Avionics experience on transport category aircraft preferred.
  6. Prior Part 121 airline experience strongly preferred.
  7. Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 121 maintenance requirements, and airworthiness standards.
  8. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and repair specifications.
  9. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  10. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
  11. Proficient in computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
