Visual Merchandising & Event Manager - Fragrance & Beauty

Location: CHANEL Toronto Offices

Reports to: Fragrance & Beauty Director

Contract: Full-time, Hybrid and Temporary Contract ending in February 2028 (maternity-leave replacement)


Your role @Chanel:


The VM Manager will be responsible for all the aspects of Visual Merchandising and Trade activity In Canada, ensure absolute command of the brand's image in-store and adhering to global corporate guidelines, whilst highlighting any key local opportunities for the Canadian market.

Looking at the overarching vision of Visual Merchandising, key relationships with the Commercial, Marketing and Design teams will be significant, capturing and developing the aspirations of each department to relay and realise these strategies across the division, implementing accordingly within all distribution streams.


What impact you can create at Chanel:

  • To be the overarching brand custodian at Point of Sale, ensuring the brand identity, image and ethics are upheld and maintained throughout

  • Drive and deliver the highest standards of Visual Merchandising & events across the various distribution channels

  • Oversee design, sourcing, technical development and execution of in-store merchandising, campaign updates and large-scale animations

  • Ensure accurate forecast of all the VM elements & take care of the opening Orders for new installations, including POSM, visual collateral, Art of Wrapping and service elements

  • Communicate across various locations and departments, being the conduit between both the office and field functions, ensuring the strategies and designs are relevant, practical and deliverable

  • Creation of regular training and guideline packages, driving the skills and understanding of Visual Merchandising at Point of Sale, departmental level and our internal clients, relaying its importance and impact

  • Having the ability to seek out new and efficient processes and practices across the function, delivering a new 'ways of working' objective throughout the field

  • Communicating regularly to the wider business both the Visual Merchandising strategies and accomplishments throughout the year, ensuring the goals and objectives are clearly recognised and understood

  • To have the physical aptitude and flexibility to install key initiatives and deliverables at Point of Sale, imparting the knowledge and skills required by a strong leader within the dedicated field

  • Align the business strategies relating to sustainability and CSR, incorporating and reflecting all aspect of Visual Merchandising deliverables

What you will bring to the role:

  • At least 7/8 years' experience managing or leading a Visual Merchandising department within the industry preferably with a full understanding of the luxury Fragrance and Beauty sector

  • An overarching excellence in the Visual Merchandising field with a good understanding of the design process and function being advantageous

  • A detailed understanding of the Fragrance & Beauty market, with a particularly strong knowledge of the Points of Sale from a National perspective

  • University BA degree within Visual Merchandising/Design or equivalent creative qualification

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of multiple software packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and additional design software packages, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp

  • An approachable, collaborative, and solution led management style

  • Motivation, commitment, agility and reactivity to all market trends

  • An ability to build relationships quickly, empower team spirit and engage at all levels

  • Excellent communication, with an ability deliver clear/concise data and information

  • A thirst and passion to learn new ways of working, processes, and industry developments, thus establishing new standards and practices as a market leader and specialist within the field of Visual Merchandising
