Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Vice President of Safety and Quality to join their team!

How you'll make an impact in this role

The Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, and Regulatory is a key executive leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving excellence in quality of care, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance across Ascension Wisconsin. This position reports directly to the Acute Care Chief Medical Officer and works collaboratively with other senior leaders to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is critical in driving our organization's commitment to delivering the highest quality care, ensuring patient safety, preventing infections, and maintaining regulatory compliance across our hospital system.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality and Patient Safety:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive quality and patient safety program alignedwith the organization's strategic goals.
  • Lead system-wide initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, reduce medical errors, and enhance patient experience.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for quality and safety across all facilities.

Infection Prevention: 

  • Direct the development and implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices across the system.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to reduce healthcare-associated infections and improvepatient outcomes.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Oversee regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations,and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, NCQA).
  • Lead preparation for regulatory surveys and accreditation visits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.

Leadership and Strategy: 

  • Provide visionary leadership in developing and executing strategies to continuously improvequality, safety, and patient outcomes.
  • Implement proactive strategic and tactical approach to quality, patient safety, regulatory, andinfection prevention.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice throughoutthe organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align quality and safety initiatives with overallorganizational goals and objectives.

Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and safety data to drive performance improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust system for tracking and trending quality metrics, patient safety events, and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the effectiveness of interventions.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board. Preferred.

Education:

  • Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experiencerequired, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.
What additional requirements you'll need

Additional Preferences: 

  • RN, MSN, PharmD, MD, PhD in a healthcare-related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality, patient safety, and regulatorycompliance within a large healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, andregulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical processes, and evidence-basedpractices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcareEnvironment.
