As an Underground Field Safety Representative, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring that every construction project is conducted in the safest environment possible. This dynamic position will have you in the heart of action, collaborating with diverse teams, managing safety protocols, and guaranteeing the health and well-being of everyone involved in the project.

With responsibility for implementing both site-specific and company-wide safety plans, your role is essential in making sure safety is a priority every step of the way. You'll not only oversee safety, but you'll also educate and empower employees, ensuring they understand and follow the highest safety standards. No two days are the same as you monitor ongoing construction operations and handle any hazards that come your way.

Responsibilities

Ensures adequate safety oversight is always provided during construction operationsEnsures project-specific safety training is provided and all employees, including subcontractors, are aware of site-specific safety requirements, contractor's site-specific plans, and required Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulationsDocuments all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities.Ensures adequate, appropriate, and timely actions are taken to correct hazards once identifiedEnsures attendance and participation at project safety meetings including attendance of subcontractor safety personnelEnsures all reporting is completed in a timely fashionCollaborates with customers and outside agencies as requiredEducates/trains employees in regulatory and company requirementsConducts and/or participates in incident investigationMay accompany an injured employee for treatment and medical evaluationConducts environmental, health, and safety compliance audits to ensure complianceCommunicates constantly with all levels of project management and supervision as it relates to both good and bad safety practices that are observed.Educates project personnel through "on-the-spot" training and Tailgate MeetingsOrients employees to the safety practices required by the Company and on the projectOther related duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

- Prior heavy construction experience preferred 1-5 years of safety-related experience Preferred Certificates-Occupational Safety, Osha500, First Aid, and CPR Knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and Company safety regulations/requirements Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures Knowledge of: PPE, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Scaffolding, Crane/Rigging, Hazardous Communication, Equipment Safety, Incident Investigation, Traffic Control, OQ Training Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary for business needs Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Pay- $   100,000    - $ 138,000       /Annually *Depending on Experience
