Job description

Parsons Behle & Latimer is seeking a Legal Assistant to support our litigation and transactional practice in our Reno, Nevada office. This is a full-time in-office non-exempt position, hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Salary is negotiable commensurate with Nevada law experience.

The ideal candidate will have the skill set to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects; a strong work ethic; experience working with Microsoft Office Suite; careful attention to detail; and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with client intake and document collection.
  • Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court dates.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and hearings.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare and organize documents for commercial, corporate, real estate, finance, and other business transactions.
  • Coordinate transaction closings, including compiling signature packets, tracking executed documents, and preparing closing binders.
  • Assist with entity formation, governance, annual filings, and corporate record maintenance.
  • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Maintain electronic and physical client files.
  • Provide backup support for other legal assistants.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Nevada law experience preferred.
  • Experience filing in state and/or federal courts preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based software.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects with careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff.
  • Excellent verbal communication and professional client service, both in person and by phone.
  • Strong organizational skills, including calendaring, time entry, invoice review, attorney support, and coordination across in-person and remote teams.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, people-oriented, and professional, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
