Job description

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 6am – 2:30pm.

Growing South Seattle steel fabricator, established in 1889, seeks experienced welders for our ASME shop. We offer a stable, long-term working environment with room for professional growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· ASME Code Work: Perform various welding techniques on stainless steel, and mild steel, and adhere to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX standards for all procedures and qualifications

· Fabrication: Fit, align, and assemble large, fabricated parts such as ice machines and pressure vessels from blueprints.

· Equipment Operation: Proficiently use grinders, cutting torches (oxygen/propane), plasma cutters, and air arc equipment.

· Quality Assurance: Ensure welds pass visual inspections and X-ray testing.

· General: Maintain a clean, organized work area; comply with all safety regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school graduate or GED.

· 1+ years of experience in structural steel or pressure vessel fabrication (ASME experience preferred).

· Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and welding symbols.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Some field work is required.

· Must pass pre-employment in-house weld testing, ASME standards, X-ray quality.

· Capable of standing continuously, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 60 pounds.

· Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights.

· Must join union WITHIN 30 days of employment.

· Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
