Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Professional Engineer to join our team. In this full-time salaried position, you will be responsible for designing structures, foundations, overhead wires, and site grading plans for electrical substations and transmission lines. You will ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes and standards while collaborating with customer representatives and Project Management Teams to meet project specifications and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and interpret drawings for transmission structures, foundations, hardware assemblies, and aluminum bus systems.
  • Review drawings for substation equipment, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and design codes.
  • Utilize PLS Pole and PLS-CADD software for modeling and analysis of transmission structures.
  • Problem-solve issues related to design, construction, and compliance.
  • Create and verify material list descriptions for transmission lines.
  • Address technical questions from construction managers, field staff, and customers.
  • Travel periodically for project meetings and site visits to ensure proper design implementation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Electrical Substation and Transmission Lines Industry.
  • PE License preferred, but at a minimum, an EIT studying for the PE is required.
  • Knowledge of PLS, RISA 3D, Mathcad, or other structural software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or other relevant drafting software.
  • Some experience in steel and concrete structural design.
  • Familiarity with industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
