Icon Power is now hiring a Solar Battery Technician. This position will be part of a team responsible for installation, service, and/or troubleshooting for commercial and residential energy storage systems. The Battery Technician will assist to ensure accurate and timely installations, update Branch Managers on projects, and utilize best installation and safety practices.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Learn to conduct Site Surveys for Residential Battery Storage Systems.
  • Learn to how to relocate circuits.
  • :earn to install of sub panels.
  • Work with the Branch Manager and Project Manager and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades/repairs to support our solar equipment.
  • Work with local Inspectors to satisfy local requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain high-quality control on tools, vehicles, and materials needed for job responsibilities.
  • Residential battery storage system installations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of advances in new and alternative energy options, especially related to construction and design.
  • Keep accurate records of material used and proper documentation on work orders relating to the installation.
  • Additional duties required as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools as well as materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional conduit bending, wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Operate company vehicles and/or other equipment safely.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with solar strongly required.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work at great heights.
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, etc).
