Position Overview
This position supports a Precision Mining engineering group focused on embedded electronic controls for precision mining applications utilizing hyperspectral analysis. The Software Engineer will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features for these systems, collaborating with a global team of machine, systems, software, and validation engineers to deliver high-quality precision mining technology solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop precision mining features using embedded C++, Linux, and GitHub
  • Resolve issues through triage and troubleshooting
  • Work within an Agile Sprint environment
  • Develop validation plans
  • Coordinate with a global team of machine, systems, software, and validation teams
  • Collaborate effectively within a culturally diverse work group
  • Perform systems requirements decomposition, design, development, reviews, integration, and testing
  • Participate in design reviews and daily stand-ups as part of a 12-14 person global team

Work Environment
  • Onsite, office-based position located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required with 2-4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree with 1-2 years of industry experience will also be considered

  • Proficiency with ROS1 or ROS2
  • Proficiency with OpenCV / Machine Learning development
