Work Hours: 2nd Shift: M-F, 9 am - 6 pm or 10 am - 7 pm)
General Purpose:
This newly created, mission critical, full-time SMT/PCB Process Engineer - 2nd Shift position is responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support a state of the art automotive / PCBA manufacturing organization.
Principle Accountabilities:
Implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability (dfx study)
Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production
Oversee new process equipment production
Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters
Trouble shoot process related issues
Participate to activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements
Evaluate and select various engineered materials
Implement statistical process reviews on new and existing products
Implement safety, productivity and yield improvements.
Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
Develop and maintain process documentation
Review processing methods
Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer
Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer
Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
Manage cost improvement/reduction programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (ideal/optional) in Engineering (or similar) - OR - equivalent industry work experience (see below).
Experience:
- 4+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience from automotive manufacturing (or similar).
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Customer (external and internal) interface /relationship management skills.
