Konare Law

Frederick, MD • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Salary:

About the Firm

Konare Law is a Maryland-based immigration law firm. We handle a high volume of client matters and court filings, and we are investing in technology to work smarter, faster, and more accurately for our clients. We are building an internal system step by step that automates the routine work of the firm and frees our attorneys and staff to focus on our clients.

The Opportunity

This is a new, full-time position for a hands-on builder who will own artificial intelligence and automation at the firm. You will start by automating and connecting the tools and workflows we already use, and grow into designing and building custom software that becomes the backbone of how the firm runs. You will work on-site, side by side with our attorneys and staff, learning how the firm operates and turning that knowledge into reliable systems.

This role focuses on building automation and software development. General IT infrastructure (hardware, network, email, and support) is handled separately by our IT provider, so you can concentrate on creating value, not keeping the lights on.

What You Will Do

Phase 1 Automate what we already have

Automate our existing tools and workflows client intake, document generation, court filings, deadline and case tracking, billing, and client communication using Claude and other AI and automation platforms.

Eliminate repetitive, manual tasks that consume attorney and staff time, and design workflows that are dependable and easy for non-technical staff to use.

Connect the tools, documents, and systems we use today so they talk to each other and share data cleanly.

Phase 2 Build our system over time

Design and build custom software and internal tools tailored to how the firm actually works, developed incrementally and improved as our needs grow.

Maintain and refine the firm's systems continuously this is an evolving system you will own, maintain, and expand, not a one-time project.

Train attorneys and staff on the new tools, and document how everything works so the firm is never dependent on any single person.

What We Are Looking For

Strong programming ability you can design, write, test, and maintain software independently (for example in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar).

Real, hands-on experience with AI tools and automation platforms including large language models such as Claude and a track record of using them to automate real work.

Experience integrating and connecting software systems through APIs and automation tools.

The judgment to work with sensitive, confidential client information responsibly and securely. Discretion and trustworthiness are non-negotiable in a law firm.

A self-starter who can take a general goal, ask the right questions, and deliver working solutions without being micromanaged.

Clear communication able to explain technical work to attorneys and staff in plain language.

Nice to Have

Prior experience working in or with a law firm, or with legal, immigration, or other document-heavy, deadline-driven environments.

Familiarity with data security and privacy best practices, especially around confidential or privileged information.

Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or workflow systems from the ground up.

Position Details

Full-time, permanent employee (this is not a contract role).

On-site at our Maryland office.

Reports directly to firm leadership.

How to Apply

Please send your resume, a short note about relevant automation or software you have built, and if available links or examples of your work. We are especially interested in candidates who can point to something real they have automated or created.
