Job description

Southern Shade Tree Co., a leading landscape installation and design-build company in the Carolinas, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Irrigation Technician. This full-time role involves hands-on work in repairing and maintaining irrigation systems for our commercial and residential landscape customers. We pride ourselves on using the latest technology in irrigation systems and are looking for someone who shares our commitment to quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect sites to identify repair needs and minimize damage
  • Install and maintain automated irrigation systems and components
  • Program electronic controllers for optimal water use
  • Repair irrigation systems and components to ensure proper working order
  • Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety and security concerns
  • Review blueprints to recommend changes in layout prior to installation
  • Schedule precision watering to ensure optimum watering levels and minimize disruption of services
  • Transport tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in irrigation
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair and new installation/repair of irrigation systems
  • Experience with operating heavy machinery (skid steers, trenchers, etc)
  • Understanding of blueprints and diagrams related to irrigation systems
  • Experience with two wire irrigation (commercial ties to multiple buildings)
  • Understanding of watering requirements for lawns, trees, plants, and various types of soil
  • Experience in programing codes to adapt or add buildings
  • Current Driver's License
