We invite you to apply to join our Four Seasons Hotel Chicago team as a Server in our Banquet Department!

The Banquet Server is an essential member of the Banquet team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests.This position is a full-time position with the priority to execute breakfast, lunches, and coffee breaks in the boardrooms. Additionally, they will assist in other spaces as needed.

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position.

Successful candidates will be a willing team player, comfortable with electronic systems and willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

What you will do

  • Set up banquet boardrooms according to event orders (BEOs), including buffets, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service stations
  • Ensure all equipment, glassware, and service items are clean and properly arranged
  • Review event details and timelines prior to service
  • Greet & welcome guests, go over the important time points in service with the main contact
  • Provide attentive and professional service to guests throughout the event
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, including plated meals, buffets, and passed items
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Follow proper service standards and sequence of service
  • Communicate effectively with culinary and in-room dining team to ensure smooth operation and timely service
  • Monitor event flow and adapt to changes as needed
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction at all times
  • Clear tables and remove dishes efficiently during and after events
  • Reset function spaces at the end of the function and prepare for the next event as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all banquet and service areas
  • Assist Stewarding when needed in collecting all necessary set up items including chafers, plates, silverware, hotboxes, etc.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other Banquet Servers when pre-determined number of guest thresholds and exceeded and an additional server is required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum three to five years previous guest-facing service experience in a luxury property
  • Candidate must be fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Service Passion for Luxury Hospitality
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to carry heavy items and trays up to 50lb
