Job description

Magen David Yeshivah High School (MDYHS) is a Modern Orthodox Yeshivah seeking an IT professional to support the technical needs of 450 students and 100 faculty and staff at our Bensonhurst, Brooklyn location.

This is a full-time, year-round position (including summers) requiring on-site presence five days per week.

Responsibilities
User support

• Serve as the first point of contact for technology issues, troubleshooting and resolving or escalating as required
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and administrators
• Support users both in person and via remote desktop tools

Device & hardware lifecycle

• Image, deploy, and configure new staff and student devices, including office and classroom computers
• Set up computer hardware and peripherals while maintaining tidy cable management standards
• Install, configure, back up, restore, and migrate computers, data, and applications
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and application issues through thorough, systematic investigation
• Handle device repairs and/or arrange shipments to warranty repair facilities
• Configure and troubleshoot printers and copiers on the print server; manage print queues
• Maintain accurate inventory in the asset tracking system


Identity & endpoint management

• Manage the full user lifecycle across Active Directory, Google Admin Console, and an in-house database, including creation and maintenance of email groups
• Monitor and provide first level troubleshooting of devices, policies, and software across platforms via Microsoft Intune (Windows), Jamf Pro (macOS), and Google Endpoint Management (ChromeOS)

Media & A/V

• Set up and operate A/V for media presentations and livestream events, including camera equipment and livestream software (e.g., OBS); occasional after-hours work is required throughout the year

Documentation

• Log support activities and resolutions in the ticketing system

• Contribute clear, well-organized documentation to the internal knowledge base

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and certifications
• 2 years of relevant experience in an IT support field
• Experience with Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS operating systems
• Basic understanding of command line environments
• Ability to write basic PowerShell or shell scripts
• Basic network troubleshooting experience
• A passion and curiosity for problem-solving and learning, and a desire to maintain
current and up-to-date knowledge in a wide variety of hardware, software, services, and operating systems
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and resolve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate multiple flights of stairs
• Preferred: 3D printer (filament) maintenance and management experience
• Preferred: Experience with photography, videography, video editing, and A/V equipment (cameras, microphones, projectors)
