What is a full-time RVer?

Full-time RVers are individuals or families who choose to live in their recreational vehicles (RVs) year-round rather than in a traditional house or apartment. They travel frequently, exploring different places while using their RV as their primary residence. Full-time RVing offers a flexible and adventurous lifestyle, but also comes with unique challenges such as managing mail, healthcare, and finding reliable internet on the road.

What are full-time jobs while living in an RV?

Full-time RV jobs include a variety of positions that you can do from a recreational vehicle. You can work as a graphic designer, a writer, or a data entry clerk, to name just a few. Working from an RV allows you to travel to remote locations while still using the internet to get a job done. In this role, you may use virtual office software to coordinate with other employees, access online databases, write content for websites, or design materials for the company. Most people who work from RV's use a laptop, but you may need to get a larger and more powerful computer if your job requires it.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full-time RV technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full-Time RV Technician, you need strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and knowledge of RV systems, typically supported by technical training or certification (such as RVIA/RVDA). Familiarity with hand and power tools, diagnostic software, and electrical and plumbing systems is crucial. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication with customers set top performers apart. These skills ensure safe, high-quality repairs and maintenance, leading to customer satisfaction and repeat business.

What are some common challenges faced by full-time RVers in maintaining a work-life balance while on the road?

Full-Time RVers who work remotely often find it challenging to separate their work and personal life due to limited space and the constant change of environment. Reliable internet access can also be a hurdle, requiring advance planning and investment in mobile connectivity solutions. Additionally, time zone changes and varying campground environments may impact productivity and routine, so successful RVers develop strong organizational skills and flexible schedules to stay on track. Building community with other RVers and utilizing co-working spaces when available can also help maintain a healthy balance.

Job description

Experienced RV Delivery Specialist

Four Seasons RV – Andover, Kansas | Wichita Area
Full-Time | Immediate Opening

Turn an RV Purchase Into the Start of an Adventure

Four Seasons RV is growing, and our Andover location in the Wichita area is looking for an experienced RV Delivery Specialist who can hit the ground running.

This is one of the most important positions in our dealership.

When a customer buys an RV, you may be the last person they spend significant time with before they pull out of our dealership and begin their first trip. Your job is to make sure they leave comfortable, confident, excited, and ready to camp.

If you know RVs, enjoy working with people, can explain technical information in a way customers understand, and take pride in creating a great customer experience, we want to talk with you.

Who We Are

Four Seasons RV is a family-owned and operated Kansas RV dealership with multiple locations across the state.

We believe customers should be treated like people—not numbers.

Our reputation is built around knowledgeable employees, quality products, transparent business practices, strong service after the sale, and helping families enjoy the RV lifestyle.

We are continuing to grow our Andover/Wichita operation and need another experienced professional to join our team as soon as possible.

What You’ll Do

As an RV Delivery Specialist, you will take ownership of the customer’s final RV orientation and delivery experience.

Conduct Thorough Customer RV Orientations

You will conduct approximately 1.5-hour customer delivery orientations on new and used RVs.

You’ll teach customers how to safely and confidently operate their RV, including systems such as:

  • 12-volt and 120-volt electrical systems
  • Shore power and battery systems
  • Water pumps and freshwater systems
  • City-water connections
  • Water heaters
  • Holding tanks and sewer systems
  • Propane systems
  • Furnaces and air conditioners
  • Refrigerators and major appliances
  • Slide-outs
  • Leveling and stabilization systems
  • Awnings
  • Entertainment systems
  • Generators when equipped
  • Solar and inverter systems when equipped
  • Interior and exterior controls
  • Safety equipment and basic RV maintenance
  • Hitching, towing and brake-control basics when applicable

You don’t need to turn the delivery into an engineering class. You need to explain things clearly enough that a first-time owner can say:

“I understand my camper and I’m ready to use it.”

Perform a Final Delivery Quality Check

Before the customer arrives, you will review the RV and confirm it is truly ready for delivery.

That means:

  • Verify major systems are operating correctly
  • Confirm the RV is clean and presentation-ready
  • Review the PDI and delivery checklist
  • Identify anything that needs attention before the customer arrives
  • Communicate immediately with the Service Department about outstanding issues
  • Help ensure promised accessories and equipment are installed
  • Make sure manuals, remotes, keys and other customer items are present
  • Help prevent avoidable customer comebacks by catching problems before delivery

We believe the best service repair is often the one we catch before the customer ever knows there was a problem.

Create an Outstanding Customer Experience

Technical knowledge is important. Communication is just as important.

You’ll:

  • Welcome customers and make delivery day fun
  • Adjust your explanation for experienced RV owners or first-time buyers
  • Encourage customers to ask questions
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations instead of simply pointing at switches
  • Explain basic maintenance that can help prevent future problems
  • Answer questions honestly—if you don’t know something, you’ll find the right person who does
  • Communicate customer concerns to Service, Parts, Sales or Management
  • Help customers understand accessories they may need for safe and enjoyable camping
  • Complete required delivery documentation and customer sign-offs
  • Help finish delivery with a positive, memorable experience
  • Participate in our customer delivery photo and review process

Our goal isn’t simply to hand someone the keys.

Our goal is to create customers who are excited to tell their friends where they bought their RV.

What We’re Looking For

This is an experienced position, and we’re looking for someone who already understands RVs and can become productive quickly.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in one or more of the following:

  • RV Delivery or Customer Orientation
  • RV Service
  • RV Technician
  • RV Pre-Delivery Inspection/PDI
  • RV Service Advisor
  • RV Parts or Accessories
  • RV Sales with strong technical product knowledge
  • Similar automotive, marine or powersports experience with extensive RV knowledge
You Should Also Have:
  • Strong knowledge of common RV systems and components
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • The ability to explain technical subjects in simple terms
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • A positive attitude
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to work as part of a Sales, Service and Parts team
  • The ability to manage multiple deliveries and changing priorities
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for any duties requiring operation of company vehicles

The position may require standing, walking, bending, climbing RV steps, working inside and outside RVs, and lifting or moving items associated with normal RV delivery duties, with reasonable accommodation when required.

The Person Who Will Thrive Here

We’re looking for someone who says:

“Give me the customer, give me the camper, and I’ll make sure they understand it before they leave.”

You take pride in knowing your product.

You notice when something isn’t right.

You don’t walk past a problem assuming someone else will handle it.

You enjoy teaching customers.

You’re patient when someone asks the same question twice.

You understand that delivery day can be both exciting and intimidating for a first-time RV buyer.

Most importantly, you understand that our job isn’t finished when we sell the RV. It’s finished when the customer is ready to enjoy it.

Why Join Four Seasons RV?

We’re growing—and growth creates opportunity.

You’ll be joining a family-owned Kansas company where decisions are made locally and where great employees can make a real impact.

Benefits Include:
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Full-Time Employment
  • Competitive Compensation Based on Experience
  • Opportunity for Growth as Our Company Expands
  • Employee-Focused, Team-Oriented Work Environment
  • Additional benefits and employment details discussed during the hiring process
