RRC is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer II - Power Systems Studies to help us build the future of both U.S. and Canada energy production from both remote work locations and any one of our US or Canadian office locations.. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform power system studies including support for wind and solar plant interconnection studies at development, construction, and operational stages
  • Assist with system impact studies, power flow, short circuit, grounding, reactive power, and related analyses
  • Support electromagnetic transient, insulation coordination study, and TOV studies using tools such as PSCAD or EMTP-RV
  • Utilize software such as ETAP, ASPEN, CYMCAP, SKM, PSSE, PSLF, or similar tools to conduct engineering analyses
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized technical reports
  • Coordinate with internal teams including engineers, designers, and project managers to support project execution
  • Interface with clients on technical matters with guidance, including responding to data requests and assisting with study inputs
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company QA/QC procedures
  • Assist in the development and improvement of internal standards, tools, and processes
  • Support proposal development by contributing technical input and scope details

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of power system study experience in power delivery, renewable energy, or power generation
  • Master's degree in Engineering or renewable energy focus is a plus
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation required; Professional Engineering registration license or ability to obtain license
  • Must be authorized to work full-time in US/Canada
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ANSI/IEEE, NESC, NEC, CSA, IEC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of renewable energy industry relating to utility scale wind and solar projects a plus
  • Experience supporting multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with power system analysis tools (ETAP, PSCAD, ASPEN, PSSE, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow technically
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
