Job description

LocationST. LOUIS, MO 63130 Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryThe Director of Full-Time MBA & Domestic Recruitment holds one of the most consequential mandates at Olin Business School. The full-time MBA is the flagship product of Olin's graduate portfolio. Domestic growth is a strategic priority of the school. Success in domestic specialized master's recruitment is a major component of the school's long-term financial model. This role sits at the center of all three. Olin is in the midst of a deliberate transformation, and this position plays a key part in advancing Olin's proud legacy and furthering WashU's role in driving impact.
The Director is the senior domestic recruiter for the full-time graduate portfolio and the day-to-day product manager for the full-time MBA. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Recruitment, the Director maintains the MBA's market positioning, competitive read, and candidate-facing narrative-calibrated week to week with the Assistant Dean, within the portfolio strategy set by the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, The Director supervises the domestic recruitment lane-the Assistant Director of SMP & Domestic Recruitment and the Associate Director of Veterans Recruitment-and is supported by the Associate Director of FTMBA & International Recruitment, who recruits the international side of the class this role shapes and reports through the Director of SMP & International Recruitment. The Director holds a seat in admissions decisions alongside the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, the Assistant Dean of Recruitment, and the Assistant Dean & Director of Admissions.
The majority of this role is direct candidate recruitment-an individual pipeline and an individual number, alongside leadership of a two-person team. The ideal candidate has personally carried and hit a recruitment, admissions, or sales number, can represent a complex program in plain language to a candidate deciding among strong alternatives, and finds energy in the craft of one-on-one conversion.Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Full-Time MBA Product Management

  • Serve as the day-to-day product manager for the full-time MBA-the flagship product of Olin's graduate portfolio.
  • Maintain the MBA value proposition, market positioning, and candidate-facing messaging in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Marketing & Communications, within the portfolio strategy established by the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs.
  • Strategize competitor positioning, scholarship practices, and program changes across the peer school set. Maintain the lost-reason analysis: which schools Olin loses to, at what stage, and why.
  • Shape the entering class toward the school's enrollment and class profile goals in partnership with the Director of SMP & International Recruitment, whose team recruits the international side of the class.
  • Provide market and candidate intelligence to faculty, and program leadership regarding curriculum, career outcomes, and student experience.
  • Prepare recruitment-related inputs for class profile reporting and rankings submissions.

Domestic Market Development

  • Own the domestic map. Domestic growth is a strategic priority of the school, and this role builds the market that delivers it.
  • Develop and maintain the domestic recruitment strategy across feeder undergraduate institutions, metropolitan markets, employers, and channel organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pre-business advisors, career services offices, and faculty at feeder institutions.
  • Cultivate employer and corporate talent relationships in partnership with the part-time programs and Executive Education teams. Represent Olin at employer-hosted recruitment events.
  • Measure every market and channel on cost per qualified inquiry and cost per deposit. Scale what converts. Stop what does not.

Candidate Recruitment

  • Personally carry an individual pipeline of domestic candidates from initial inquiry through deposit and matriculation. This is the largest share of the role by design.
  • Conduct one-on-one candidate conversations, program presentations, and information sessions, in person and virtually.
  • Meet the speed-to-lead standard on every assigned inquiry. No qualified inquiry waits.
  • Conduct evaluative interviews and participate in admissions decisions with the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, the Assistant Dean of Recruitment, and the Assistant Dean & Director of Admissions.
  • Conduct admit, waitlist, and melt-prevention outreach. Stay with committed candidates through matriculation.
  • Maintain complete, current, and accurate candidate records in Slate. The forecast the school runs on is assembled from these inputs.
  • Represent Olin at recruitment fairs, campus visits, employer sites, and metropolitan-market events.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise the Assistant Director of SMP & Domestic Recruitment and the Associate Director of Veterans Recruitment-the domestic recruitment lane.
  • Coach through direct observation: candidate conversations, event execution, and follow-up quality.
  • Assign domestic circuits and channel responsibilities within the activity standards set by the Assistant Dean of Recruitment.
  • Provide performance input and development planning for both direct reports

Internal Partnerships

  • Partner with Admissions Operations on pipeline stage definitions, data integrity, and domestic recruitment reporting in Slate.
  • Partner with Strategic Insights on funnel analysis and market research.
  • Coordinate with the Director of SMP & International Recruitment on the international side of the MBA class and on portfolio-wide class shaping.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on campaign targeting, content development, and webinar programming for the full-time MBA.
  • Coordinate the deployment of Admissions Fellows and Student Ambassadors in support of domestic recruitment.
  • Engage faculty and current students in candidate-facing programming, including class visits, coffee chats, and admitted-student events.

External Partnerships

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with national recruitment partner organizations, including Forte, The Consortium, MLT, and ROMBA, including event participation and candidate follow-up.
  • Assess each partnership annually on cost per deposit and recommend renewals, additions, and exits. Membership and renewal decisions are made by school leadership.
  • Build and deploy an alumni volunteer network in target metros and at target employers in support of domestic recruitment.
  • Maintain relationships with school representatives, employer talent contacts, and community organizations. Direct veteran and military recruitment channel development through the Associate Director of Veterans Recruitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
