Location: Longview, TX - Onsite
Address: 2201 Horseshoe Lane Longview, TX 75605
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our community committed to delivering outstanding nursing care to our residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will play an important role in all phases of the nursing service that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

  • Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
  • Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing health care plans; make rounds with physicians and accurately and timely records visits on charts.
  • Administer parenteral, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; performs in-house testing procedures; takes and records vital signs.
  • Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
  • Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work; assign aides to residents, specifying break times and special duties to be completed.
  • Meet with director as needed and participate in staff meetings to keep staff performing at optimum level.
  • Personally receive or place all calls to physician and follow through with physician's orders timely and accurately.
  • Supervise (or personally handle) the preparation and administration of prescribed medications accurately.

What you'll bring:

  • High School diploma or GED, and 2 to 3 years of college or vocational school
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must hold and maintain current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions.
  • Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time; requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of shift.
