  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
AMD Research is an entrepreneurial research organization with a strong background of driving research innovations into AMD products. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineering intern/co-op to join our team. In this role-
  • We will train and enable you to invent the hardware and software technologies of next generation computing platforms
  • We will encourage you to contribute to an environment that has the potential to directly impact product roadmaps and to help build our future products
  • We will assign responsibilities that will enable product development and help improve their performance and efficiency

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • You are currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD program majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • If you have knowledge or experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply -
    • C/C++, Verilog HDL, Python, P4, ML frameworks, /C++, Java, MATLAB, Go
    • Research experience and publications in related areas (e.g., computing systems, networking, hardware/software co-design, machine learning)
    • FPGA or ASIC-based RTL design and verification, FPGA deployment and programming, FPGA based acceleration of cloud applications, programmable data plane, machine learning training on GPUs
    • Distributed systems, data center networking, high performance computing, and distributed machine learning training
    • ML frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
