Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to create coordinated mental health treatment plans for patients, ensuring continuity of care both within and beyond our facility.
  • Deliver mental health in-service training sessions to medical, psychiatric, and security staff, enhancing their understanding and responsiveness to mental health needs.
  • Intervene in and de-escalate mental health emergencies as they arise, utilizing evidence-based techniques to support individuals in crisis within the facility.
  • Participate in commitment hearings as necessary, representing patient interests and providing professional insight as needed based on your contract with the facility.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and set achievable goals for patients, ensuring they are tailored to each personโ€™s unique situation and progress.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously to maintain accurate records of treatment and progress in compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Keep medical records confidential and secure, adhering strictly to legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough verification of past patient mental health histories, including relevant psychotropic medications, to inform treatment approaches.
  • Prepare timely reports on patient progress and special evaluations as required by the medical team.
  • Coordinate with nursing and mental health staff to ensure seamless post-release referrals to community support systems, facilitating ongoing patient care.
