Work Environment

This position enables you to work from home in a fully remote capacity, paired with occasional visits to our outpatient office in Syracuse as needed. Your regular work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility built in for patient-related demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' histories and mental health needs, determining appropriate therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual.
  • Develop and execute personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering recovery and building resilience, monitoring progress throughout the therapeutic process.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support clients in their healing journey.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients navigate their trauma experiences and equipping them with effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and integrated treatment approach for each client.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention as needed, offering support during critical trauma-related situations.
  • Educate clients and their support systems about trauma responses, adaptive coping strategies, and available resources, empowering them in the recovery process.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines to uphold patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on working with trauma survivors, including individuals dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related disorders. By employing a trauma-informed approach, youโ€™ll effectively support clients in understanding their experiences and developing healthier coping strategies, thus facilitating greater mental health outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT within the state of New York.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with a strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach conducive to building therapeutic relationships.
