Position Overview

Wise Mind Psychotherapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health services to a diverse patient population while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. As a vital member of our practice, you will play a crucial role in assessing individuals’ mental health needs, formulating treatment strategies, and guiding clients on their journey towards healing and improved well-being.

About the Organization

At Wise Mind Psychotherapy Services, we are committed to empowering individuals through compassionate mental health support. Located in Richmond, Virginia, our community health clinic serves a wide array of clients, from those grappling with anxiety and depression to individuals facing substance use disorders and eating challenges. Our interdisciplinary team collaborates closely to ensure the delivery of holistic and effective care, fostering a positive impact on the mental health landscape of our community.

Work Environment

This remote position allows our Mental Health Counselors to engage with clients from the comfort and security of their own homes. We utilize cutting-edge telehealth technology and an electronic health record (EHR) system to streamline communication and enhance client engagement. Our team-oriented culture emphasizes support and collaboration, ensuring that you will always have access to your colleagues and supervisors, regardless of the distance. Whether you’re having a casual virtual coffee chat or participating in structured team meetings, you will feel connected and valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial client assessments to evaluate mental health statuses, history, and treatment needs.
  • Develop tailored therapy plans based on evidence-based approaches, ensuring they align with each client's unique experiences and goals.
  • Facilitate regular individual and group therapeutic sessions, providing not only treatment but also guidance and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure co-management of client care, including referrals to psychiatrists or specialists when necessary.
  • Document client progress meticulously within our EHR system, tracking treatment outcomes and adjusting interventions as appropriate.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries to foster a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay informed of the latest mental health research and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele is diverse, encompassing various backgrounds and ages. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals facing conditions such as PTSD, trauma-related issues, anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse challenges. This role not only demands clinical expertise but also a deep cultural competence to navigate and honor the varied experiences and identities of the clients served.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid licensure in the state as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a clinical setting, providing therapy to clients across a range of mental health issues.
  • Proven ability to utilize evidence-based treatment modalities and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in therapeutic interactions.
  • Strong crisis management skills, with the capability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport and trust with clients from varied backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and a comfort level with technology to enhance client communication and documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a community health setting or with underserved populations.
  • Background in group therapy facilitation and workshops focusing on mental health and wellness.
  • Continuing education courses or certifications in specific therapeutic modalities are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary for this role ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, Wise Mind Psychotherapy Services offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plans with employer matching, generous paid time off (PTO), and holiday pay.

Career Growth Opportunities

We pride ourselves on supporting the professional growth of our staff. Opportunities for continuing education, mentorship, and the potential for leadership roles are available for those looking to advance their careers within our organization. You will be encouraged to pursue further specialization and certification to expand your skills and enhance your contributions to our clients and community.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Wise Mind Psychotherapy Services means becoming part of a passionate team committed to making a difference. We prioritize our employees’ well-being and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful environment that values diversity. Here, you won’t just have a job; you’ll have the ability to change lives and contribute to a culture of care and empathy.
